ABOUT HANANEXPOSURES PHOTOGRAPHY.

Dedicated to excellence.Passionate about beauty, fashion, elegance, and creativity.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, I moved to Austin, Texas, in 1995. While growing up I had always shot film as a hobby, but I began to shoot in earnest when I purchased my first DSLR, a Canon 20D, in 2005.  Not knowing any other photographers, I joined various online communities including photo.net, where I created a profile to post pictures and get feedback from the other members.

At the time I thought I was amazing, but I really wasn’t, (proof here) but that idea that I was spurred me on and fueled my drive to pursue this further.

I finally left my life in corporate IT after 20 years, and elected to do photography full time.  Four days after this fork in the road, I was in Kyrgyzstan, followed by Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on my first assignment.

Since then, I have photographed soccer kids, world leaders, election candidates, famous actors, musicians and worked for some astonishingly successful people – it’s been a blast.

I love people, and I focus entirely on the people involved in the job, making them feel comfortable and drawing out their best work. An uncomfortable subject makes for a uncomfortable photograph, regardless of who the photographer is.

I am available to travel around the US and the globe for corporate, commercial, and fashion assignments. You can contact me at info@hananexposures.com or by phone at 512-947-0296.

Gerry HananLoves to shoot, hates to be shot!

I’ve taken thousands of photographs, but these two mean the most to me.

Taken in my parents’ kitchen, in Donegal, Ireland, when I was home for a visit in 2007. I didn’t bring any lighting equipment, so I just used window light and the rare permission from my mum to do the shoot.

MY DAD

1922-2009

Impossible to say anything about me without letting you know about my parents. Being a visual artist and not a wordsmith, I would rather say what I want to say by giving a place of honor to my parents here.

MY MUM

1922-2009

Both my parents were artists, Dad choosing oils as his medium and painting from the age of 16 to 87. Mum found her creative outlet in incredible sketches of famous horses, and she also dabbled in sculpture.
