Last night was the kickoff for the 2011 Austin Fashion Week with models from Wilhelmina Brown, clothes from Betsey Johnson and from Motorclothes by Harley-Davidson.

Austin Fashion Week was started by Matt Swinney of Launch 787 3 years ago and it continues to grow in attendance, style and participants. Getting the word out, wrangling the media, and all aspects of PR for the event was executed by the wonderfully helpful and welcoming Kristen Chin of POM PR.  This years event was opened by CW star Mandy Dugan.

Held at the Cowboy Harley-Davidson of Austin dealership on IH35, just south of Austin, the evenings display of fashion was punctuated by a performance by an 80’s hair band LC Rocks.  Images from their performance can be seen here. After LC Rocks performed, it was the turn for the mashup teams to have their models take to the runway re-creating their entry for the competition and their looks can be seen here.

The evening was catered by Cantina Laredo, Judges Hill Restaurant, Frank, Suga Plump Pastries and Cornucopia. Complimentary cocktails from Tito’s Vodka, Corzo Tequila, Rebecca Creek Whiskey, SANS Soda, Neuro, Vitamin Water Zero and more.
